Chief 
of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz, a native of Toms River, N.J., is now a member of the Aviation Hall of Fame of New Jersey, located in Teterboro. Schwartz was the keynote speaker at Wednesday’s induction ceremony, during which hall of fame officials honored him and the three other 2011 inductees: Howard Levy (deceased), world famous aviation photographer; William Mack, around-the-world jet aircraft record setter and avionics designer; and Joseph Salvatore, founder of the NAS Wildwood Museum, New Jersey’s largest aviation museum. Each grew up or has lived in New Jersey and uniquely contributed to the advancement of aviation. Each inductee’s likeness is captured on an honorary plaque that will permanently hang in the hall, established in 1972. U.S. Southern Command recently announced its first lethal strike on a suspected narco-trafficking vessel in two months, and the first under a newly formed permanent counter-cartel task force. The U.S. is also reportedly planning to transfer MQ-9 drones to Colombia to bolster its counter-cartel efforts.
