Air Force Reserve Command’s 326th Airlift Squadron at Dover AFB, Del., dispatched an aircrew flying a Dover C-17 to deliver 18,000 pounds of humanitarian supplies to Nicaragua last week. Included in the haul were desks, chairs, file cabinets, and books for a new library at Ave Maria University’s Latin American Campus, which is a US-accredited school in the Carazo region. The Naples, Fla.-based university arranged delivery of the material through the Denton Program, jointly run by US Agency for International Development and the State and Defense Departments. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
