An Air Force MQ-1 Predator remotely piloted aircraft crashed on the Nevada Test and Training Range northwest of Las Vegas during a routine training mission, announced officials at nearby Creech Air Force Base. No one was injured on May 1 when the aircraft came down in an unpopulated area one mile southeast of Cactus Springs, according to the base’s release.
The United States Air Force is flying less than historic norms and funding for acquisition and readiness is on a path to further hollow out this too small and old force to that is incapable of sustaining an enduring combat air campaign.
