Thirteenth Air Force, headquartered at JB Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, is co-hosting the 2010 Pacific Rim Airpower Symposium this week in Singapore with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. Discussions on regional cooperation and the use of air forces in support of peace operations are the agenda for the invitees from the air forces of 25 Pacific nations. Coinciding with PACRIM, which runs July 19-23, is the Senior Enlisted Leadership Conference, the largest multinational enlisted gathering designed to “enhance the professionalism of the different air force enlisted corps in the region.” The leadership conference was first held in 2008. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited the site of U.S. Space Command’s future home Dec. 12 and endorsed the move to establish the headquarters in Alabama after years of political back and forth.
