New Fisher Houses in the Works

Veterans Affairs and Fisher House Foundation officials broke ground this week on a new 21-suite Fisher House on the campus of the Washington, D.C. VA Medical Center, according to a center release. The 16,800-square-foot facility will be the 50th Fisher House, which provide homes to veterans and military personnel and their families during hospitalization stays. Another new Fisher House is under construction in Pittsburgh and expected to open next year, per a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. (For more about projected Fisher Houses.)
