Pacific Air Forces announced a new Theater Security Package of F-15E Strike Eagles is on its way to South Korea, while other USAF fighters are shifting to a new deployment in Australia. Twelve F-15E Strike Eagles from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho’s 366th Fighter Wing and support personnel left for Osan AB, South Korea, on Friday to participate in training with their Republic of Korea counterparts and allies in exercises and other training activities as part of a TSP. In addition, an earlier TSP package of Air Guard F-16s deployed to Kunsan AB, South Korea, is deploying to Royal Australian Air Force Base Tindal, Australia, to participate in multilateral training events.
The U.S. sent Air Force F-16s over central Syria in a show of force following the Dec. 13 killing of two U.S. Army Soldiers and one American civilian interpreter by a gunman linked to the Islamic State group.
