Some 40 members of the 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron recently deployed from al Udeid AB, Qatar, to a forward location in the Middle East to build a new passenger terminal for the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing. The new building will be a permanent structure with 21-foot-high arched steel panels to accommodate the hundreds of military and civilian passengers who transit each day through the wing’s undisclosed operating location, according to an Aug. 15 release. The wing’s current terminal utilizes tents. “I feel very good about the work my airmen are doing here,” said Maj. Camille Nemr, 557th ERHS site officer in charge. “For some of our airmen, this is their first deployment and working on projects outside of their specific career field. They have adapted to a high-paced tempo, aggressive schedule, semi-austere conditions, and weather,” added Nemr. The project is slated to take approximately 90 days from start to finish.
