Pentagon announced Jan. 20 that TSgt. Adam K. Ginett, 29, of Knightdale, N.C., died Jan. 19 near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. Ginett, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, had deployed from the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron, Aviano AB, Italy.
								The Air Force is planning to retain some F-15C/D Eagles, among its oldest fighters, to perform the homeland defense mission at least four more years, the service revealed in a “Long-Term Fighter Force Structure” report submitted to lawmakers earlier this year.
