Boeing officials say the company has successfully completed several major milestones for the Global Positioning System IIF program. Among the milestones was completion of the first satellite’s initial electromagnetic compatibility and interference testing, which ensured the SV-1 satellite could be launched via an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle. Boeing’s first Block IIF satellite would be ready for launch in 2008.
The ongoing government shutdown has not slowed progress on the Joint Advanced Tactical Missile, a congressional official said, correcting a previous statement from lawmakers about the secretive program.
