The Pease Development Authority, the public entity that manages land around the former Pease Air Force Base near Portsmouth, N.H., has received the title to the final 268 acres of the base. The organization had leased the acreage from the Air Force pending the resolution of environmental issues covered under federal Superfund laws. PDA says it is well into developing the land for industrial and commercial use.
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
