Barely a week after the Senate passed a huge veterans bill that included new initiatives for rural health care services, Veterans Affairs announced plans to open a new outreach clinic to serve some 4,000 veterans in the Yuma/Burlington/Goodland region of eastern Colorado and western Kansas. VA says the clinic will put basic primary care and mental health services within much easier reach of the veterans, many of whom are 65 or older and live throughout nine counties in the Great Plains region.
