Eliminating Murderer’s Row: Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) is out to close the loophole that permitted the recent burial at Arlington National Cemetery of convicted double-murderer Richard Wagner. Craig, who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, said last week that he will sponsor a measure to change 1997 legislation that permits interment of convicted murderers who are eligible for parole. Craig also plans to introduce a bill to remove the remains of Wagner.
Brig. Gen. Clarence E. “Bud” Anderson, the last surviving triple ace from World War II, was honored one last time by the nation's top Airmen when he was buried here with full military honors March 30.
