Before Gen. Gregory S. Martin retired as head of Air Force Materiel Command, he pushed the command to create a course that would help the AFMC civilian force more readily identify themselves as airmen. The Air Force Core Values course recently graduated a first test group. Another four courses out of a planned nine total are set to begin in September. Read here to learn about the program.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
