Officials of Romania and US Joint Forces Command on May 30 signed a memorandum to establish formal liaison contacts between the US and Romanian defense organizations. It also calls for Romania to assign a full-time military officer to the JFCOM headquarters in Norfolk, Va. The new officer is expected to arrive in the fall. Romania now can participate in JFCOM-sponsored multinational exercises and experiments.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
