Naval aviators give credit where credit is due. In the latest issue of Balad’s Red Tail Flyer, Navy Lt. Bryan Sory offered his appreciation for USAF air traffic controllers in Iraq, writing: “I’ve flown under their control many times and each time came away impressed by their level of professionalism and dedication. … Were it not for their selfless service, my job, and those of countess other aviators, would be difficult if not impossible.”

While none of the major aircraft contractors were selected to develop the Collaborative Combat Aircraft, all three say they are seeking further autonomous aircraft work for the Navy, foreign partners, or in the classified arena, and maybe future versions of the CCA itself.
