Air University cannot just decide to offer new degrees. As a federal institution, it must seek Congressional approval. Carl Bergquist reports that Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has proposed an amendment to the 2008 defense authorization bill that would enable AU to offer three new degrees: a doctorate of philosophy in strategic studies, a master of flight test engineering, and a master of air, space, and cyberspace.
