Top Senate and House Democrats decided to restore the joint hearings of the Senate and House Veterans’ Affairs Committees for veterans service organizations axed last year by the Republican majority. The joint hearings also will be held at the traditional time—after the Administration delivers its new budget. In a statement last week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) hailed the joint hearings as a “valuable dialogue,” and said it would “ensure that Congress protects the interests of the brave men and women who have defended our freedom.”
