The College Football Hall of Fame on May 16 elected former Air Force Academy football star Chad Hennings to its roll of honor, among 12 other players and two coaches out of a field of 77. Hennings played defensive lineman, becoming a first-team All-American in 1987. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys upon graduation in 1988, but he first served four years on active duty, flying A-10s. He joined the Cowboys in 1992, playing for nine years.
The Air Force is requesting about $141 million for initial enlistment bonuses in its fiscal 2026 budget, while Space Force wants $13 million.
