Space Boss Receives Sword:
The enlisted personnel of Air Force Space Command recently entered Gen. Lance W. Lord into the select company of the Order of the Sword. Lord, who is AFSPC commander, announced in December that he would retire from the Air Force on April 1. CMSgt. Ron Kriete, AFSPC’s top enlisted, called Lord “a great leader, a great general, and more importantly, a great gentleman.” Lord noted that from his first assignment he has “been in the care of airmen.” He added, “It’s a dumb general who doesn’t listen to his chief.”
An important U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS command and control plane was among the aircraft damaged in a March 27 Iranian missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, people familiar with the matter told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
