SSgt. Timothy Hahn died last summer when he tried to save a member of his hiking group caught in a flash flood in Sabino Canyon in Arizona. Last week, the Air Force awarded Hahn, who was a member of the 563rd Rescue Group’s maintenance squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., an Airman’s Medal for his heroic act. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
