Forensics specialists of the FBI are checking out the laptop computer and external hard drive that were stolen from a former VA employee’s home on May 3, exposing more than 26 million veterans and military personnel to potential identity theft. Officials investigating the theft announced Thursday that those computer pieces had been recovered. An initial check seemed to indicate that the data is still intact.
Gen. Kenneth S. Wilsbach said the service must improve its readiness in his first public remarks as Air Force Chief of Staff, made during a ceremony marking his ascension to the service’s top job Nov. 18.
