The weekend saw more air strikes in Iraq. On Nov. 6, USAF F-16s and US Navy F-14s used precision guided munitions to strike Iraqi insurgents in the area of Al Qaim. On Nov. 5, USAF F-16s struck a building used by insurgents in the vicinity of Husaybah. On Nov. 4, F-16s launched a PGM striking an insurgent mortar firing location in the vicinity of Baquba.

US Bets on On-Orbit Satellite Servicing with 4 Missions in 2026

The Air Force has given Northrop Grumman’s new Project Talon aircraft the official designation of YFQ-48A, the service announced Dec. 22. That makes Northrop's potential competitor for USAF's Collaborative Combat Aircraft program the third CCA to be designated an uncrewed fighter aircraft.
