ir Combat Command will inactivate the 7th Fighter Squadron at Holloman AFB, N.M., on Dec. 31 as it continues with plans to retire F-117 stealth fighters. The F-117 community at Holloman is holding a ceremony today to commemorate the end of the 7th FS, now called the “Screamin’ Demons.” The unit’s history, dating to 1941, includes legendary Air Force aces such as Maj. Richard Bong and Lt. Col. Gerald Johnson. Its F-117 fighters will be among the first to enter retirement.
Guardians in the Space Force’s orbital warfare unit, Mission Delta 9, just got a significant upgrade to their training capabilities in the form of a live satellite, which they’ll use to practice precise, advanced offensive and defensive maneuvers for space warfighting.
