A new Air Force employee failed to notify DOD about the service’s contract awards for the month of December. (If only we could have a do-over day, now and then.) DOD posts high-value contract announcements on its Web site each day, as a public notification tool. On Monday, the DOD contracts carried the entire list of USAF’s December contracts—numbering 57 and amounting to about $4 billion. Some of the winning contractors, of course, already had made public announcements at the time they received the contracts. (The list is included in this Pentagon news release.)
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
