Command for US Air Forces in Europe formally has changed from Gen. Robert H. Foglesong to Gen. William T. Hobbins. (DR 11/10/05) At the ceremony, which took place at Ramstein AB, Germany, on Dec. 6, Hobbins praised Foglesong, particularly for overseeing the stand up of the Air Force Warfighting Headquarters and centers of excellence for expeditionary operations, air dominance, and joint fires. Hobbins also publicly lauded USAFE airmen in a commentary released by his new command.
Fresh off the first combat deployment of its new EA-37B, the Air Force is nearly doubling the planned number of new electronic attack jets and projecting more than $3 billion in spending on the program in the next five years.
