Air Force Lifecycle Management Center opened the new $33 million Information Technology Complex at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. “This will be a critically important tool for my organization . . . as we fulfill our mission to acquire and support war-winning capabilities,” said AFLCMC Commander Lt. Gen. C.D. Moore at the Oct. 5 ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to the base’s Oct. 12 release. The 60,000-square-foot building will house fourth and fifth generation fighter cockpit simulators and simulations representing other aircraft as well as radars and ground stations. They will aid in evaluating new technology. The new building will have a staff of 90, states the release. Officials expect to move the base’s Simulation and Analysis Facility and the Air Force Research Lab’s Supercomputing Resource Center to the new building by year’s end. The Air Force has finished modifying and testing the new VC-25B Bridge aircraft that will serve as a temporary Air Force One, the service announced May 1. All that’s left now is to finish painting the jet before it starts flying this summer.
