Welsh Presents Chief of Staff Excellence Awards

Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh presented the 2012 CSAF Team Excellence Award to Air Mobility Command’s electronic flight bag team from Scott AFB, Ill., during a Nov. 28 ceremony at the Pentagon. Welsh honored the 21-member team for its work in delivering the mobility air forces’ first electronic flight bag in June that consolidated paper flight references for 16,000 aircrew members across 100 units, according to an Air Force headquarters release. This flight bag utilizes the iPad tablet. Welsh also recognized the first runner up, the BRAC Air Force Research Lab radar relocation project management team at Stewart ANGB, N.Y., as well as the second runner up, the B-2 window change continuous process improvement team at Whiteman AFB, Mo. Each year since its inception in 1992, this CSAF award recognizes teams of airmen that have applied a systematic approach to enhance mission capability, improve operational performance, and create sustained results, states the release.
