The 502nd Air Base Wing, which includes some 8,000 people at JBSA-Lackland, JBSA-Randolph, and JBSA-Ft. Sam Houston, all in Texas, recently reorganized to serve the entire complex more effectively. “It is so important that we fine tune our structure and our processes within the wing so that we can provide premier installation support,” said JBSA and 502nd ABW Commander Brig. Gen. Bob LaBrutta. During an early December transformation ceremony, the wing inactivated three mission support groups, replacing them with a force support group, installation support group, and security forces/logistics support group. “We are doing something fundamentally different,” said LaBrutta. “I firmly believe that through this action, the 502nd Air Base Wing is formally organized the way that provides us the best opportunity to achieve our vision,” he added.
