The Air Force has issued an updated list of selective reenlistment bonuses covering 88 specialties, that reflects a hefty $93 million increase that nearly triples the size of this incentive program, the service announced Sept. 17. The new SRB list is in effect as of Sept. 15. It will allow greater distribution of bonuses across career fields than in recent years, the service said. It includes all specialties that received bonuses under the previous list, plus an additional 51 specialties. Another change is the increase in the cap that an airman may receive per zone—$90,000 compared to the previous $60,000 maximum.
The Air Force will test out a “next Airmen up” list for the upcoming chief master sergeant promotion cycle, to identify qualified candidates should any of those selected to move up in rank decline to do so.
