Lockheed
Martin announced Sept. 13 that the first production C-5M Super Galaxy now has a newly painted tail flash. Lockheed’s Marietta, Ga., production facility painted tail No. 31285 with the new flash. The company expects to deliver this aircraft to Air Mobility Command soon for stationing at Dover AFB, Del.
Defense industry leaders say the Air Force needs to be able to update the software on its munitions multiple times a day, not every few months, and a new Pentagon instruction released last week could enable that.
