Airman’s Family Recognized: Capt. Alex Gazzaway of Air Force Space Command’s Manpower and Personnel Directorate, his wife Laura, and their children Cameron, Grace, Parker, and Zachary have been chosen as the National Military Family Association’s family of the year for 2008. NMFA recognized the family for its volunteer efforts and community participation during Gazzaway’s tour at Cape Cod AFS, Mass. “It is challenging to balance work, family, and community involvement, but we try to intertwine the kids in everything we do,” said Gazzaway. BAE Systems has received a contract from Lockheed Martin to install an upgraded Block 4 electronic warfare system into new F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, as well as to retrofit some older jets.
