Airman’s Family Recognized: Capt. Alex Gazzaway of Air Force Space Command’s Manpower and Personnel Directorate, his wife Laura, and their children Cameron, Grace, Parker, and Zachary have been chosen as the National Military Family Association’s family of the year for 2008. NMFA recognized the family for its volunteer efforts and community participation during Gazzaway’s tour at Cape Cod AFS, Mass. “It is challenging to balance work, family, and community involvement, but we try to intertwine the kids in everything we do,” said Gazzaway. A new White House policy calls for the Pentagon to craft plans for additional space launch facilities to support a projected increase in launch demand that could see the U.S. supporting as many as 1,000 launches by 2030, more than a fivefold increase from 2025.
