Air Force Global Strike Command has declared its 90th Missile Wing at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo., mission ready following the unit’s first full no-notice nuclear surety inspection under the new command. AFGSC had conducted limited NSIs for all three of its missile wings in December. While undergoing the full NSI, the 90th MW also completed a nuclear operational readiness inspection and operational readiness inspection. After a long period in which munitions were almost an afterthought and sacrificed to pay for other priorities, the Air Force needs to focus on them in order to have the right “package” of capabilities for future conflicts, Chief of Staff Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. said June 7.
