A sailor saved the life of an Air Force doctor by performing the Heimlich maneuver on the doctor who was choking on a piece of food at a base dining facility in Southwest Asia. The sailor was Navy machinist Petty Officer First Class Jerry Lego. The doctor was Lt. Col. Lois MacDonald, commander of the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group Medical Operations Flight. “I was happy to be able to help her,” Lego commented. “In her line of work she saves lives every day, and it is nice to return the favor.”
