US Joint Forces Command , the DOD joint deployment process owner, and US Transportation Command, the DOD distribution process owner, have penned a joint vision statement to “align interrelated joint deployment and distribution actions for better mutual performance and to add value for the warfighter,” according to a TRANSCOM news release. JFCOM commander, Air Force Gen. Lance Smith, said the agreement forms “the first step to a better environment that will allow the sharing and maturation of new ideas.”

While none of the major aircraft contractors were selected to develop the Collaborative Combat Aircraft, all three say they are seeking further autonomous aircraft work for the Navy, foreign partners, or in the classified arena, and maybe future versions of the CCA itself.
