Boeing has received a $240 million contract from the Air Force to produce Joint Direct Attack Munition tail kits to convert 10,000 bombs of 500, 1,000, and 2,000 pounds. The bombs belong to the Air Force and Navy. Boeing is to complete the new order by February 2008. Boeing officials say the company has manufactured more than 140,000 JDAM tail kits since 1998.
