Air Force Space Command plans to hold the space and missile competition known as Guardian Challenge, culminating in an awards banquet on Aug. 17. Real-world deployments caused the command to cancel the Challenge last year. Peterson AFB, Colo., home to AFSPC headquarters and several space units, is host to this year’s competition. The command’s helicopter crews held their portion of the competition in May at Camp Guernsey, Wyo.
The successful second flight of Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket on Nov. 13 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Fla., also included a first for the company—the launcher’s booster stuck its landing on a barge in the Atlantic Ocean.
