DOD and NASA have formed a National Partnership for Aeronautical Testing to develop an integrated national strategy for managing their respective aeronautical test facilities with a view toward streamlining and economizing operations, according to a Feb. 23 Pentagon release. The governing body will be an NPAT council, with co-chairs John B. Foulkes, director of DOD’s Test Resource Management Center, and Lisa J. Porter, NASA associate administrator for Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.
Aircraft readiness will suffer if Congress does not approve some $1.5 billion worth of spare parts the Air Force requested in its annual Unfunded Priorities List, sent to Capitol Hill last week, Chief of Staff Gen. David W. Allvin said.
