An Air Force honor guard and band members paid tribute to World War II bomber pilot and career officer, Maj. Gen. Jack I. Posner, during his burial at Arlington National Cemetery Aug. 11. Posner, who was 83 when he died July 14, received his Army Air Forces wings in June 1944 and flew 18 combat missions with the 92nd Bombardment Group in England. The Air Force recalled him to active duty from the Reserves in 1950 during the Korean War. He served in a variety of staff and personnel jobs, retiring in March 1978.
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
