Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, writing in an op-ed article in the Los Angeles Times, says he worries “about the lack of perspective in our national dialogue.” He acknowledges that his remarks before two veterans service groups recently “generated much discussion” and provides the Web site link for anyone to read his remarks for themselves. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
