The Joint Chiefs of Staff will support the Pentagon plan to increase Tricare fees for military retirees and their families, according to Tom Philpott, contributing editor to Air Force Magazine. The planned increases, to be included in the 2007 defense budget proposal, would raise enrollment fees and deductibles over the next three years for retirees under age 65. The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
