The Air Force Academy has sent 18 cadets to Southwest Asia over the summer as part of Operation Air Force. SrA. Clark Staehle reports that the 18, who will be seniors at the academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., in the fall, are being given “duties and tasks that will fall under their purview after they graduate.”
Airmen basic rarely go on to become four-star generals, but one who did retired last week after a 42 year career that saw him rise from a lowly slick-sleeve to the head of one of the Air Force’s most important major commands.
