The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center has moved from Langley AFB, Va., to Tyndall AFB, Fla., beginning operations March 1 at its new home, America’s Air Operations Center. The Air Force realigned the AFRCC last spring under 1st Air Force, which has its headquarters at Tyndall and which is the Air Force component for NORAD and US Northern Command. The AAOC is due to become fully operational in June.
An important U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry AWACS command and control plane was among the aircraft damaged in a March 27 Iranian missile and drone attack on Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, people familiar with the matter told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
