CMSAF Gerald Murray has asked USAF’s former top enlisted men to meet to exchange information about future Air Force plans. Eight of the nine living former Chief Master Sergeants of the Air Force will be at the Feb. 13-16 Pentagon gathering. Murray said, “Their wisdom and insight into the lessons of the past are invaluable to me as we continue to move our Air Force into the future.” Murray plans to provide briefings on topics from the Quadrennial Defense Review to personnel matters.
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
