The Pentagon took part in the Thursday ceremony announcing removal of the American Bald Eagle from the Department of Interior’s endangered species list because the military services manage land that serve as homes for more than 440 bald eagle nests. A Pentagon release notes that DOD environmental scientists, policy officials, and military personnel “worked together to plan and implement bald eagle management plans for each of these sites.” Well done.
