The Enid (Okla.) News reports that Raptor program executive officer, Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Riemer, says the Air Force and Lockheed on Friday signed a contract for the 60-aircraft MYP. (See above) Riemer was in Oklahoma to speak to newly minted pilots from the undergraduate pilot training program at Vance Air Force Base. (Riemer also related some interesting flying experiences.)
As Air Force leaders consider concepts of operations for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, sustainment in the field—and easing that support by using standard parts and limiting variants—should be a key consideration, according to a new study from AFA's Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Studies.
