Changing World Begets a New USAF Mission Statement: Air Force leaders have revamped the service’s mission statement (we reported they would). Gen. Michael Moseley, Air Force Chief of Staff, and Michael Wynne, Air Force Secretary, co-signed a letter, stating that “now more than ever we need [the mission] to be clear and precise.” The new statement says USAF must “deliver sovereign options … to fly and fight in Air, Space, and Cyberspace.”
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
