The Chairman of the BRAC commission, Anthony Principi, said Monday that he does not agree with the Pentagon estimate of savings for closing Ellsworth AFB, S.D. In fact, Principi said in an interview to be aired tonight on C-SPAN that the movement of Ellsworth’s B-1B bombers to Dyess AFB, Tex., “costs you money.”
The Air Force has finished resurrecting a B-1B Lancer, completing a yearslong process to transform a bomber that had been stored for parts in the Arizona desert into the new flagship of the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.
