Reservists from the 507th Air Refueling Wing, based at Tinker AFB, Okla., returned on Feb. 17 and Feb. 19 from a deployment to Incirlik AB, Turkey, according to a press release. The airmen were deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the US military’s campaign to defeat ISIS. Over the course of the deployment, which began Dec. 13, four of the 507th ARW’s eight KC-135 Stratotankers and 90 airmen provided more than 1,100 hours of combat support for NATO and US military aircraft, including the B-2 Spirit, the F-15E Strike Eagle, and the A-10 Warthog. The deployed members of the 507th ARW also provided maintenance for KC-135s.
The Air Force is targeting August 2027 for its new T-7A Red Hawk trainer jet to reach its initial operational capability. To get there, the head of Air and Education Training has three milestones he needs to see the program hit.
