The Missouri Congressional delegation announce that USAF has selected the Air National Guard’s 131st Fighter Wing to become the first B-2 bomber associate unit. After BRAC 2005 strips the wing of its F-15 fighters, it will become the 131st Bomb Wing and help operate and maintain the B-2s of the 509th BW at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
