About 100 airmen from Moody AFB, Ga., deployed last week to protect deployed USAF assets in the fight against ISIS. The airmen from the 824th Base Defense Squadron deployed April 11 to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia to “provide fully integrated, highly capable, and responsive forces while safeguarding expeditionary Air Force assets,” according to a Moody release. The squadron is part of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing.
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
