About 100 airmen from Moody AFB, Ga., deployed last week to protect deployed USAF assets in the fight against ISIS. The airmen from the 824th Base Defense Squadron deployed April 11 to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia to “provide fully integrated, highly capable, and responsive forces while safeguarding expeditionary Air Force assets,” according to a Moody release. The squadron is part of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing.
Lt. Gen. Douglas Schiess will receive a fourth star and take the helm of the Space Force following a unanimous Aug. 6 vote, approving his nomination to become the third CSO since the service’s establishment in 2019.
